About Sloto

We learned scheduling in hospitals.

For twenty years, our parent company has built the software that runs hospital appointments, operating theatres and clinic queues. Sloto is what happens when you take that discipline and hand it to everyone else.

Where Sloto comes from

Sloto is an initiative of Caresoft Systems Private Limited, a healthcare technology company headquartered in Mumbai. Our hospital information systems are used in over 1,000 hospitals across India and more than 12 countries, and we have been building them, profitably and without outside capital, for over two decades.

In that world, scheduling is not a convenience feature. A clinic that runs forty minutes late has patients standing in a corridor. A theatre slot that goes unfilled is a day of capacity gone. A double-booked consultant is a clinical risk, not a calendar conflict. We spent a long time learning what happens when time is managed badly, because our customers could not afford for us to get it wrong.

Scheduling looks like a small problem right up until the moment it becomes an expensive one.

Sloto came out of a straightforward observation. The same back-and-forth we had spent years engineering out of hospitals — the four emails to find a time, the timezone mistake, the meeting nobody confirmed — was still everywhere else. So we built the tool we already knew how to build, for everybody who is not a hospital.

What twenty years in healthcare taught us

Three things we brought across, and they shape almost every decision in the product.

Step 1

The calendar is the source of truth, not us

In a hospital, software that fights the existing system loses. Sloto reads your real availability from your real calendar and writes back to it. No parallel diary to keep in sync, no second place to check, no surprises at nine on a Monday.

Step 2

A booking is a commitment, so treat it like one

Confirmations arrive. Reminders arrive. Reschedules and cancellations reach both sides. This sounds obvious until you have watched a scheduling tool drop a notification and take a clinic's morning with it. We build the boring, reliable parts first.

Step 3

Other people's data deserves more care than your own

Every booking on Sloto involves someone who is not our customer — the person on the other side of the link. We ask them for as little as possible, we never advertise to them, and we never sell what they give us. That instinct comes from handling patient records, and we did not leave it behind.

The company behind it

Caresoft has grown the slow way — funded by customers rather than investors, with the same engineering team maintaining systems that hospitals have run on for a decade or more. That shapes how we build Sloto: for the long run, with the assumption that we will still be answering for this software in ten years.

  • 20+ Years building healthcare software
  • 1,000+ Hospitals running Caresoft systems
  • 12+ Countries served
  • 100% Bootstrapped, no outside capital

Certifications held by Caresoft Systems Private Limited CMMI Level 5 · ISO 27001 · PCI DSS — the engineering and information security standards our healthcare work is built to, and the same practices Sloto is developed under.

How we think about the product

Fewer features, done properly. We would rather ship one thing that works every single time than five that mostly do. Scheduling is infrastructure; it should be dull and dependable.

No dark patterns. Cancelling is as easy as signing up. Rejecting cookies is as easy as accepting them. Your data exports whenever you want it, in a format you can actually use.

We answer the phone. Support is our own team, not a forwarding address. It is how we have kept hospital customers for fifteen years, and we are not going to run Sloto differently.
